About the author
Adam is a writer, lecturer and editor based in Manchester. His first book, Cold Fish Soup (Saraband, 2022), a memoir in essays about the Yorkshire coast, won the NorthBound Book Award at the 2021 Northern Writers’ Awards.
Broken Biscuits and Other Male Failures (HarperNorth, 2025) is his second essay collection.
His writing can be found in numerous publications, including The Guardian, Metro, the short story collection Flash Nonfiction Funny (Woodhall Press, 2018), Test Signal (Dead Ink Books/Bloomsbury, 2021), North Country (Saraband, 2022), Hinterland magazine and Lunate.
