About the event
Join local author and historian Michael Billington to learn about the eighth book in his series, covering the schools of the area.
Discover the history of the oldest schools in the three townships: St. Michael's and St. Mary's, with archive photos dating from the 19th century. Also explore the histories of local schools such as Davyhulme Primary School, St. Monica's School in Flixton, amongst others, and explore old photos of the buildings, classes, teachers, school reports, uniforms and much more.
For anyone who has grown up in Urmston or has children in the local schools, this is a wonderful opportunity to see how our schools have evolved over the decades. Tickets are just £5 and include a welcome drink, and the new book will be available to purchase on the night.
