Manchester Corinthians:
The authorised history
Talk and Q&A with author Dr Gary James

Learn all about the pioneering women’s team who defied the ban on female participation in football in England at the time.
Founded in 1948 — 1949, the Manchester Corinthians Ladies Football Club was established during the FA ban on women’s football using FA affiliated grounds. From friendlies across the UK to a series of European tours, the club became important representatives of women's football internationally and domestically up until the 1990s.
The book, published earlier this year, charts the development of this groundbreaking inspirational team, with interviews with players from every era of the club's history. You can experience a taste of the stories in the Talking City documentary here.
Join author and historian, Dr Gary James, to learn all about the book and the history of the Corinthians. Tickets are just £5, redeemable against a copy of the book (£25 RRP). Book your tickets using the form on this page or by calling into store.
