In conversation with... Vaseem Khan and Robert Rutherford

Join us at Urmston Library for an evening with Vaseem Khan, award-winning author of the Baby Ganesh Detective Agency novels, and Robert Rutherford, Sunday Times bestselling author of Seven Days, as they introduce us to their latest releases, The Girl in Cell A and The Missing Hour.

Both authors are well known for writing acclaimed crime series fiction but now they turn their hand to stand alone thrillers, pacey, filmic and international in scope. They’ll be exploring what it’s like to move into the thriller space, their inspirations, the joys and challenges of writing with a different goal in mind, and how to craft the perfect who-dunnit.

Tickets are available to book below at £5, with the cost redeemable against a copy of either book. Limited copies of the books will be available on the day, and you can reserve a copy by choosing the 'Event ticket + copy' option in the form below.

*Please note that spaces at the event are limited and form submissions without payment will not guarantee entry. If you would prefer to pay for your ticket in cash, please call in to Urmston Books and Board Games at 72 Flixton Road, M41 5AB, to purchase a ticket in person.

The Girl in Cell A
Vaseem Khan

The world knows her as the girl in Cell A.

Convicted of murder at seventeen, infamous killer and true crime celebrity Orianna Negi has always maintained her innocence.

But if she didn't kill Gideon Wyclerc...

Orianna has a blind spot over that fateful day: she can't remember what happened. Forensic psychologist Annie Ledet is tasked with unlocking the truth . ...

Then who did?

Orianna grew up in Eden Falls, ruled by the insular Wyclerc dynasty and its ruthless patriarch, Amos. As their sessions progress, Annie reaches into Orianna's past to a shattering realisation .... Scandal. Sex. Power. Race. And murder. Between guilt and innocence lies a fallen Eden.

The Missing Hour
Robert Rutherford

Reporter Maggie Brewer is woken in the night by the police dragging her husband out of bed. In a state of terror, she follows to the police station to be told the worst - her husband has died whilst being arrested for murder.

Everything points to his guilt ... except the fact that he was with Maggie when the murder happened. Four hundred miles away.

Apart from one single hour. One missing hour when anything could have happened.

In a bid to clear her husband's name, Maggie embarks on a hair-raising game of cat and mouse to find out what really happened in that missing hour.
