Meet the author and signing: Matt Goodfellow
Meet award-winning poet and author Matt Goodfellow and get a signed and dedicated copy of The First Year, the sequel to his acclaimed verse novel The Final Year.

Matt will be at the store to sign copies of the new book after school on the day. No booking is required, just turn up!

10am — 12pm
Wet felting workshop
Join us for a wet felting workshop with local textile artist Charlotte Tweedy. In this session, we'll learn to make a wet felted bowl using just wool fibres, soap and water.
​
Charlotte has more than 25 years experience of teaching art, textiles and design technology and delivering mindful art workshops for all ages.​ Tickets are £25, including materials and resources. ​

In conversation with... Vaseem Khan and Robert Rutherford
Join us at Urmston Library for an evening with Vaseem Khan, award-winning author of the Baby Ganesh Detective Agency novels, and Robert Rutherford, Sunday Times bestselling author of Seven Days, as they introduce us to their latest releases, The Girl in Cell A and The Missing Hour.

Tickets are £5, with the cost redeemable against a copy of either book.

Stories and songs
Our regular stories and songs session for babies and toddlers is back!
​
We'll be reading some fun stories, having a bit of a sing-along to the ukulele, and getting up and playing some games.
​
Tickets are £5 each, including a hot drink and a cake or cookie — all home baked with heart. Kids go free!

Beer and board games
Join us for our next beer and board games social night, in partnership with our wonderful neighbour, Craft Brewtique.
It's an opportunity to meet new people, try out some new games with guidance from our team, and enjoy some beautiful craft beers from next door.
Tickets are £5 each, and showing the ticket at Craft Brewtique, right next door, will give you a 10% discount on beers on the night.

Join local author and BBC Sport journalist, Alex Bysouth, to celebrate the release of his book, Football for the Soul: Rediscovering the Beauty in the Beautiful Game. ​

with author Robert Graham
Explore how setting can affect the reader and create emotional tone in this workshop.​
Author Robert Graham has taught Creative Writing at MMU, Edge Hill and Liverpool John Moores, and has authored novels, short story collections, and creative writing guides.

Building new worlds: Imagination and identity in science fiction and fantasy
Ever wondered about what goes into the creation of a brand new world? Join science fiction and fantasy authors Eliza Chan, Paul Edwards, Dan Hanks and Alethea Lyons for a live discussion on the art of world-building.

Writing crime fiction in a house visited by Agatha Christie
