Meet Lancashire author Joel Hames as he introduces us to his latest books, The Boatyard and The Viewpoint.

Joel's crime fiction includes the Dead North series, starring lawyer Sam Williams, and psychological thriller The Lies I Tell. His Cumbria Crime collaboration with award-winning author Rachel McLean.

Miniature painting social

Do you like painting minis? Interested in getting started? Want to meet like-minded people for an informal hobby session?

We're organising our first ever after-hours miniature painting social, with paints and brushes provided, and support from friendly faces who have spent many an hour hunched over a miniature or two themselves.

Stories and Songs

Join us for our regular monthly stories and songs session for babies and toddlers, on Fridays at 11am. 

We'll be reading some stories, having a bit of a sing-along to the ukulele, and getting up and playing some games.

Tickets are £6 each, including a hot drink and a cake or cookie — all home baked with heart. Kids go free!

Across the Universe – with author Steve Taylor

Join Steve Taylor, a renowned scholar of psychology and spirituality and former professional musician, as he retells the story of the Beatles through the lens of their prolific creativity. Across the Universe is a thrilling new look at the psychological, cultural, and spiritual forces behind the Beatles’ genius.

Tickets are just £5, and the evening will include a short table quiz on the Beatles as well as live music from Steve himself. Ticket and book option available.

We've taken on board feedback from the community, and instead of a booking-based monthly session that runs like an event, we're setting up a board game club that runs a little more like our other book clubs in store.
