Events
We love running events at the bookshop and in partnership with authors, publishers and Urmston Library. Find out more about our upcoming events below.
Saturday 6th June, 10:30am - 3:30pm
Trafford's Celebration of Reading
Trafford’s Celebration of Reading is a day of free literary events held in Urmston Library, co-organised by Trafford Libraries and Urmston Books and Board Games.
A blend between a book fair and festival, the event offers talks and workshops across all ages as well as a chance for local authors to exhibit their latest books and introduce them to a local audience.
Tuesday 9th June, 7:00pm
On We Go – with author Mike Gayle
Join us and Mike Gayle, author of A Song for Me and You and Hope Street, as he introduces us to his brand new book, On We Go.
For fans of David Nicholls, Jojo Moyes and Nick Hornby, On We Go is a warm, funny and tender story about what it truly means to be a family.
Tickets are just £5, including a welcome drink on the evening. A book and ticket option is also available for £20, which includes a hardback copy of the book on the day.
Friday 12th June, 11am
Stories and songs
Join us for our session for children under 4 and their parents and carers.
We'll be reading some stories, having a bit of a sing-along to the ukulele, and getting up and playing some games.
Tickets are £5 each, including a hot drink and a cake or cookie — all home baked with heart. Kids go free!
Thursday 9th July, 7pm

Monthly events
Board Games Club
We've taken on board feedback from the community, and instead of a booking-based monthly session that runs like an event, we're setting up a board game club that runs a little more like our other book clubs in store.
It's for anyone who loves board games – whether you're available to pop down to our sessions more immediately or in the future. We hope to get to know you a little better – do join us!
Monthly events
Book Clubs
We have a number of book clubs who meet once a month at the store to share insight, thoughts and ideas.
All of our book clubs are free to join, and members get 15% off the book of the month. Find out all about them below and do email us if you'd like to come along to a session!
